Efficiency and esthetics meet eco-consciousness

Schaan, Liechtenstein – 18 September 2024

The Ivoclar Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of integrated solutions for high-quality dental applications with an extensive product and systems portfolio for dentists, dental technicians and dental hygienists now offers users a more pleasant handling experience with its new eco-conscious packaging for the IPS e.max Press product range.

IPS e.max Press is the result of over a decade of intensive research and continuous development. The press-ceramic enables users to fabricate restorations that excel both esthetically and functionally. The material’s high strength and fracture toughness allow for the fabrication of very thin restorations, thus facilitating highly tooth-preserving preparations. Available in various levels of translucency and shades, IPS e.max Press can be flexibly adapted to the individual needs of patients.

Seamless workflow and cutting-edge technology

Combined with the Programat® G2 press furnaces, Ivoclar provides all components for a seamless workflow, offering significant added value for dental labs. Proven technologies, such as the fully automatic press function (FPF), combined with additional smart features, such as the automatic double-range temperature calibration (ATK2), the Crack Detection System (CDS), an optimized software user interface and additional IoT features, make the Programat furnaces a reliable partner for dental labs and dental technicians. Even over 30 years after its introduction, Ivoclar’s press technology is designed to stay relevant and effective well into the future. This is due to its capability to connect and work with other digital processes used in dental laboratories and practices.

Digitalization and efficiency in the dental lab

Digitalization is gathering momentum in the dental lab. Ivoclar supports this transformation with modern solutions, such as the PrograPrint 3D printing system, which integrates seamlessly into the conventional press workflow. With the 3D printing system (PrograPrint PR5), inlays, onlays, crowns and even bridges can be produced efficiently using a digital method and then invested for the press technique.

Future-oriented approach

Ivoclar has now overhauled the packaging of the IPS e.max Press ingots, opting for plastic-free packaging materials. The new packaging combines product protection, ease of handling, and eco-consciousness. The packaging concept has been thoroughly revised to provide a more convenient handling experience. The label on the outside of the packaging provides a clear description of the material inside (translucency level, shade, size). In addition, the packaging is now made from a fibre-based material. Given their sturdy design and practical size, the boxes can be reused for other everyday purposes. Alternatively, the packaging can be recycled via the paper recycling system*, where the material is shredded and cleaned. The resulting paper pulp is mixed with new materials and reintroduced into the production process to be used as a raw material for other products.

As of September 2024, selected shades of the IPS e.max Press ingots will be additionally available in refill-packs of 10 units.
