Smiles across continents: Ivoclar Joy

With Ivoclar Joy, we provide dental care and knowledge about the importance of prevention, to children and young people in less privileged regions. In this way, we give them a perspective for a better future, because untreated toothache often results in children dropping out of school and thus has a significant impact on their life perspectives.

Made possible by the Steering Committee, consisting of Vicepresident of the Supervisory Board Christina Zeller, CEO Markus Heinz and Chief Commercial Officer Mature Markets Christian Brutzer, the first base stations were set up in Africa, Asia, and South America with the project managers Dr. Tatiana Repetto-Bauckhage and Dr. med. dent. Philipp Schneider. We are committed to raising awareness and early education as well as providing dental treatment. In addition to materials and equipment, we provide personal and cover all associated costs.

For the implementation of our mission on site, one mobile dental unit is available to each team. These were specifically developed by the Swiss company BPR and are regularly equipped with instruments and consumables for Ivoclar Joy's missions. In addition to handing over materials, our teams regularly demonstrate working methods with Ivoclar products and carry out treatments. All treatments carried out by our outreach teams follow three phases

  1. Prevention and oral hygiene
  2. Small restorations
  3. Basic fillings and surgical procedures.
