At Ivoclar Vivadent, we are passionate about developing materials, technologies, products, and processes. Our vision is for every innovation to be easier and more efficient in its application as well as more reliable and more esthetic than its predecessors. An example of this is IPS e.max.
More than 15 years ago, with IPS e.max we developed a high-quality material solution in the field of alloy, veneering and monolithic materials. At the beginning we focused on lithium disilicate glass-ceramics. Our research and development team developed a material that offers particularly high quality, stability and esthetics.
During the past years, however, we have concentrated our attention on zirconium oxide materials. And today, you can efficiently manufacture high-strength, esthetic crowns, implant-supported superstructures and multi-unit bridges using zirconium oxidematerials such as IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime.
Our success proves us right. In the meantime, IPS e.max is among the best-known and most widely used types of dental all-ceramics on the market. Dental professionals around the world enthusiastically make it IPS e.max and patients are delighted with the superior esthetic quality of their restorations made of IPS e.max.
The lithium disilicate glass-ceramic materials are produced using an integrated glass technological manufacturing process involving melting, cooling, crystal nucleation and crystal growth. To impart the desired colour to the lithium disilicate material, polyvalent ions that are dissolved in the glass polyvalent ions are utilized. These ions are dissolved in the glass. The colour-producing ions are homogeneously distributed, thereby eliminating colour imperfections. Throughout production, our team constantly monitors and optimizes the processes to ensure high quality and consistency.
The zirconium oxide IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime owes its high-performance characteristics to the Gradient Technology (GT).This technology combines high-strength zirconia with high-translucency zirconia to form a single material. Newly developed processing steps provide this material with a seamless consistent progression of shade and translucency, a homogeneous structure and an overall enhanced translucency.
The IPS e.max system has been complemented from the very beginning by the fluorapatite glass-ceramic IPS e.max Ceram. It can be applied on both lithium-disilicate and zirconium oxide. The tooth-like properties of the restoration must be attributed to the nanoscale fluorapatite crystals, which create impressive and lifelike esthetics. The universal range of Stain and Glaze materials is suitable for characterizing and glazing both high- and low-fusing ceramic materials. The assortment is specially designed to efficiently characterize monolithic restorations.
The IPS e.max system is the product of profound knowledge and experience, which dentists, dental technicians and patients have relied on for many years. Impressive esthetics combined with exceptional mechanical properties have led to high customer satisfaction and excellent clinical results.
To maximize the trust we have in our material, and the trust you have place in us, we are pleased to now offer a 10-year guarantee on your newly placed IPS e.max restorations. The IPS e.max guarantee is valid from 1 July 2020 and also applies retroactively for five years for dental restorations that were permanently placed on 1 July 2015 or later. The IPS e.max guarantee gives you additional confidence and peace of mind.
