Over 12,000 children treated and program expansion to the Philippines

Schaan, Liechtenstein – 24 March 2025

Through its own aid program, Ivoclar Joy, the Liechtenstein-based Ivoclar Group promotes awareness of preventive care and provides dental treatment to children and young people in less privileged regions around the world. By taking targeted action, the dental and medical device company is committed to enabling children to live a life free of tooth decay, reducing the high number of school dropouts caused by dental pain, to ultimately improve both educational opportunities and quality of life for children.

Long-lasting success

In 2023, the family company successfully established its own aid program, Ivoclar Joy. From January 2023 to December 2024 alone, more than 24,000 treatments were provided to over 12,000 patients, alongside ongoing awareness and training initiatives at a range of schools and institutions.

Global reach

Ivoclar Joy currently runs projects in three countries: Ghana, Cambodia and Peru. The dental company liaises with local universities and hospitals to operate its base stations. Empowering and training local professionals is central to the program’s goal of delivering long-term, meaningful impact.

Mobile dental unit and three-phase approach

At each project location, the outreach teams are supported by a mobile dental unit for their on-site work. These units enable treatments in remote regions and are fully equipped with Ivoclar materials and instruments for their deployments. The outreach teams carry out all treatments according to the defined three-phase approach: "prevention and oral hygiene", "small restorations" and " basic fillings and surgical procedures". Alongside the provision of materials, equipment and personnel, the dental company fully funds all related expenditures.

Additional project site in the Philippines

In 2025, Ivoclar Joy will open its fourth project site in the Philippines. An outreach team evaluated various options and selected Palawan, a province in the western Philippines, as the future project site. Preparations are well underway to ensure that the first treatments can begin as soon as possible.
