The Ivoclar Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of integrated solutions for high-quality dental applications with an extensive product and systems portfolio for dentists, dental technicians and dental hygienists, presents OptraGate® 2: the enhanced version of their successful product, OptraGate®, which provides ample access to the treatment field and supports relative isolation for dental interventions. This product update offers dentists improved access to the oral cavity while ensuring increased comfort for patients. The advancement of the original product further facilitates insertion and supports relaxed and efficient treatments. OptraGate 2 integrates seamlessly into the dental workflow and, with its optimized ergonomics, helps achieve precise results, particularly in complex and highly esthetic restorations.
Adequate isolation is crucial for successful dental treatments: it ensures a clear view of the treatment field and provides a clean working site. Having control over the treatment field enhances efficiency and quality for all types of restorations. With OptraGate 2, Ivoclar introduces the next level of efficient moisture control and improved access to the oral cavity, ensuring optimal visibility and comfort.
OptraGate: A small tool that makes a big difference
OptraGate is an innovative aid that supports effective and quick relative isolation. With its elastic, comfortable design, it gently retracts lips and cheeks – ideal for a wide range of applications, such as preventive care and digital dentistry. It provides dentists and dental hygienists with unhindered access to the oral cavity and supports precise and efficient work. Thanks to its high flexibility, user-friendliness and compatibility due to its latex-free material, OptraGate has become a standard accessory in many practices. Every second, a treatment is performed with OptraGate somewhere in the world.[1]
"Our goal was to further enhance OptraGate in such a way that it facilitates everyday treatment for both dentists and dental hygienists while also raising patient comfort", says Georg Musil, Commercial Product Manager at Ivoclar.
OptraGate 2 combines all proven benefits of the original and integrates seamlessly into daily routine in the dental practice – without requiring any changes to the workflow. The new design not only allows for ample access to the treatment field but also enhances wearing comfort and facilitates insertion.
The new design features an additional third ring. The third ring helps relieve compressive stress on the jawbone. This enhances wearing comfort, helps patients stay more relaxed and makes it easier for them to keep their mouth open during treatment. The third ring also simplifies insertion into the patient's mouth.
By retracting the lips and cheeks, OptraGate 2 provides generous access to the treatment field, supports working in a clean, dry environment and minimizes the risk of contamination – a significant benefit in adhesive dentistry. When combined with saliva-reducing aids, it helps optimize material adhesion, thus leading to higher-quality results. With OptraGate 2, manual retraction of the lips is no longer necessary. This reduces treatment times and provides a more comfortable experience for both patients and professionals – resulting in a more efficient, relaxed and esthetically pleasing procedure.
OptraGate 2 is available in the sizes “Regular” and “Small”. Combined with Ivoclar’s direct restorative product portfolio, OptraGate 2 contributes to highly esthetic and also efficient restorative treatments: for maximum efficiency in the dental practice. With OptraGate 2, Ivoclar reinforces its commitment to offering innovative solutions for modern dentistry and continuously enhancing treatment quality and efficiency.
