Synopsis

Dr. Thomas Hirt
Dr. Thomas Hirt serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Ivoclar. He joined Ivoclar in 2010, previously headed the company’s Organic Chemistry sector, and is now responsible for the development of new Ivoclar products. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President of Research and Development at BioCure. Before joining BioCure, he spent 13 years at SEFAR AG, where he eventually became Head of Research and Development for the Printing Division. . Dr. Hirt has a proven track record of leading successful R&D teams and developing innovative products that have had a positive impact on the lives of people around the world. 

Synopsis

  • Many developments have been made to improve the clinical predictability, efficiency and esthetics of composites.

  • Contemporary composites not only have higher properties, but improved efficiency chairside without compromising esthetics.

  • This lecture will share advancements in dental composites and focus on clinical tips for improved patient satisfaction with direct restorative workflows.   

Dr. Eduardo Mahn
Dr. Eduardo Mahn is a graduate from the University of Chile and received the German DDS in Münster, Westfalen Lippe. From 2007-2009 he worked for Ivoclar at the International Center for Dental Education, Schaan, Liechtenstein and is presently a guest lecturer at several universities. He has authored several articles and has lectured about Esthetic Dentistry and Implantology in more than 50 countries. Dr. Mahn is presently Director of Clinical Research and the Director of the Esthetic Dentistry Program at the Universidad de los Andes in Santiago, Chile. He also maintains a private practice (CIPO CLINIC) emphasizing comprehensive implantology, prosthodontics and esthetic dentistry.

Synopsis

  • Edentulism is a recognized disability and one that is associated with specific social determinants of health.

  • Comprehensive treatment of edentulism requires excellence in technical therapeutics to expand awareness of and access to quality denture care, enhance the clinical and laboratory process of denture fabrication, and assure patient-focused improvement in the quality of dentures and managing edentulism.

  • This presentation will highlight the remarkable power and promise of digital technology to meet these three challenges with a collaborative effort between dental technicians and dentists.

Dr. Lyndon Cooper
Dr. Lyndon Cooper is the Dean of the Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Dentistry and formerly the Associate Dean for Research and Head of the Department of Oral Biology at University of Illinois School of Dentistry, Chicago. He has recieved many awards including the IADR’s Distinguished Scientist Award for Prosthodontics and Implantology, the IADR/AO Osseointegration Innovation in Implant Sciences Award and the Dan Gordon Award for lifetime achievement by the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Cooper remains active in research and patient care and is focused on enhancing dental education, providing for dental therapeutic excellence, and improving access to oral health care. 
                                                                                

Synopsis

  • The increase of esthetic demands by patients has resulted in the innovation of new, rapidly evolving, all ceramic materials.

  • Materials such as lithium disilicate and zirconia, not only offer high strength but provide great esthetics.

  • This lecture will educate dental technicians and dentists about the various all ceramic options, the latest material technology, and steps to deliver a successful clinical case – no matter which all ceramic material you choose.

Dr. Andrea Ricci
Dr. Andrea Ricci graduates from University of Perugia in 1996. In 1999, he achieved the Certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Since 1999, he limits his practice to Prosthodontics, Periodontology and Implant Dentistry with special emphasis to the esthetic areas. Dr. Ricci is a founder and Scientific Director of IDEAT (Institute of Dental Education and Therapy). He has co-authored several papers published in international journals and has lectured extensively in Europe, United States, China, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, United Arab Emirates and in Japan. Since January 2018 he is a Coach of the Roberto Re Leadership School.

Synopsis

  • The webinar series will conclude with a panel discussion where a wide range of industry experts from around the world will discuss the future of our profession and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

  • Topics will include esthetic dentistry trends throughout Asia, growth of group practices, advancing technology for dental professionals from a laboratory perspective, and social media and patient education.

  • Panelists include Dr. Victor Clavijo, Vincent Fehmer, Dr. Saiesha Mistry and Dr. Roshan Parikh.

Lead by Dr. George Tysowsky
Dr. George Tysowsky serves as Head of Global Training & Education and Senior Vice President of Technology and Professional Relations for Ivoclar, Inc. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics. He has served as a board member of the Academy of General Dentistry Foundation, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American College of Prosthodontics Foundation, and has also served as the Chairman of the Board for the Oral Health America Foundation. Dr. Tysowsky presently serves on the Deans Councils of Harvard University, AT School of Dentistry, University of Illinois, Chicago.
